June 1, 2025- Giggles and Big Hungry’s Daylight Donuts have partnered with The Salvation Army to celebrate National Donut Day on June 6th.
Those who want to contribute to the cause can contact both stores by phone to place a pre-order for June 6 donuts, or stop by and purchase a box of their donuts already prepared in store. There will be a limited number of pre-orders taken and in-store donuts are first come first serve, while their supplies last.
In 1938, the first National Donut Day was celebrated in Chicago, honoring The Salvation Army’s Donut Lassies. In 1917, these women were sent to France to set up field bases near the front lines, where they baked donuts for soldiers, providing essential goods and a taste of home. Their efforts boosted morale and popularized donuts in the U.S. after the troops returned.
