June 30, 2024 – Registration for Decatur Public Schools begins Monday July 1st for both school and extended day programs.
Registration will be open, however, Decatur Public Schools phone lines will be temporarily unavailable due to an essential upgrade to its communication network. The phone service disruption will begin on Monday, July 1, 2024, and is expected to last through Friday, July 5, 2024. To minimize disruption and maintain communication with district and school offices, a temporary phone number has been established for use while phone lines in the district will not be operational during the network upgrade. Email remains the most efficient way to contact school district personnel throughout the upgrade process. Staff will be available to respond to emails during normal business hours.
Registration
New families can click HERE to request a Skyward account so they can register a student online. Families with questions can reach out to DPS Student Services for registration assistance at 217-362-3060 after July 5th due to expected phone service disruptions. Returning families can register with their Skyward credentials HERE. If families need assistance with returning student registration, they can call their child’s school. For assistance on how to complete online registration, click HERE.
Depending on the grade the child is entering, the State of Illinois may have certain medical and health requirements that need to be met. Click HERE for the list.
The DPS Extended Day program is a FREE before and after school program offered at 13 sites across DPS. Families signed up for Extended Day have the flexibility to get students to school as early as 6:00 a.m. and pick up students as late as 5:30 p.m.
New and returning families need to register each academic school year for Extended Day. Families can register students for Extended Day using a desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile device for easy access. If you’re at all interested in using the Extended Day Before and After School program, even for a short time just a couple days a week, student registration is still required. Families needing in-person Skyward assistance, may visit their child’s school starting Monday, July 8 for in-person assistance.
