June 21, 2024 – Women producers have been taking on more management roles within agricultural operations. To support this rapidly growing population of farmers, the University of Illinois Extension serving DeWitt, Macon, and Piatt counties and Farm Credit Illinois are partnering to offer a six-week risk management course to empower this rapidly growing population of farmers.
Annie’s Project will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 20, Aug. 27, Sept. 3, Sept. 10, Sept. 17, and Sept. 24 at the Macon County Extension Office, 3351 N. President Howard Brown Blvd., in Decatur.
Participants will learn from women experts in production, financial management, human resources, marketing, and the legal field. The course is discussion-based and offers time for questions, sharing, and connecting with presenters and fellow participants.
“University of Illinois Extension is excited to offer this special program specifically planned for women in agriculture,” says Agriculture Program Coordinator Stephanie Hale. “This is a great way to learn from women experts in the Ag industry while sharing a unique bonding experience with fellow women living their best Ag lives!”
The cost for the course is $50, which includes a workbook and session materials. Advanced registration is required by Aug. 13 at go.illinois.edu/Annie.
