July 31, 2024 -The City of Decatur has launched an upgrade and new look to its decaturil.gov website.

The City worked with CivicPlus, the leading government website provider, to re-design the site and provide new communication and engagement tools. Along with a new look, the site has new features:

  • A mobile-optimized design that ensures citizens can easily navigate and interact with content from any desktop computer, smartphone, or tablet.
  • Notify Me Citizen Communication Subscription feature allows citizens to subscribe to receive multi-channel notifications on only those topics that matter most to them. Citizens can choose to be notified by email or text message.
  • Intuitive search ability and navigation menus make it easy to locate what you are looking for from the homepage or search bar, whether it be how to file a permit, view a City Council meeting, or pay your water bill.
  • Report a Concern. Citizens can use this form to report a pothole, debris in the street, code enforcement issue, garbage issues, and much more.
  • Personalized logins allow citizens to create an account associated with the City website so it becomes a personalized tool to download forms, submit applications and permits, pay bills, submit and track inquires, and further engage with the City.
  • The Agenda & Minutes Center allows for the storing, sharing, and searching of public meetings and agendas, and enables citizens to remain informed and engaged in City Council and other board or commission business.
  • Newsletter subscription will keep citizens engaged and informed on the latest City of Decatur news and topics. By going to Notify Me, citizens can subscribe to the digital newsletter and opt to receive it via email and/or text message.

The website team will continue to make adjustments and take suggestions on how to improve the user experience. If a citizen finds a broken link or other error, you can submit the issue using the “Report a Concern” feature and choosing “website” as the problem type.
