August 7, 2024 – The Illinois State Fair has revealed the theme and discount days for 2024. The festivities will kick off with County Fairs and Horse Racing Day on Thursday, August 8, starting at 7 a.m. This day will feature horse racing, county fair activities, free entertainment, $3 carnival rides, traditional kickoff events, and the annual Twilight Parade.
On August 8, paid parking will include free parking on a return visit on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of the fair week.
August 9: Agriculture Day, celebrating Illinois’ leading industry with livestock exhibitors and youth in agriculture.
August 13: “Twosday” offers $2 admission for seniors and adults, and $2 rides, alongside all Mega and Jumbo Pass benefits.
“Our theme days allow us to celebrate the diversity of the Illinois State Fair and everything it has to offer. Each year, we look for opportunities to make the Illinois State Fair affordable and accessible for families and to broaden their exposure to agriculture, the state’s number one industry.” said Rebecca Clark, Illinois State Fair Manager.

August 16: First Responder & Healthcare Heroes Day (Free admission for first responders and healthcare workers with ID)
August 17: Park District Conservation Day
August 18: Family Day
The 2024 Illinois State Fair runs from August 8 to 18 in Springfield.
