August 12, 2024 – The Governor Richard J. Oglesby Mansion at will host a Quilt Exhibit throughout August.
The exhibit will showcase over a dozen quilts from the Decatur Quilters Guild, reflecting patterns from the 1880s, such as the Log Cabin and Wedding Ring designs. There will be arequested donation of $5 per adult and $2 per child.
“Our partnership with the Quilters Guild helps educate visitors about life during Governor Oglesby’s era,” said Carol Pelz, board president for the Mansion.
The Mansion, located at 421 West William Street will be open for tours on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and the last Sunday of the month.
