Last opportunity to round-up at Kroger for WSOY Community Food Drive

Aug 27, 2024 | 10:55 AM

August 27, 2024 – Kroger locations in Decatur are stepping up to make it easier than ever to give in advance to the WSOY Community Food Drive, but time is running out!

All three Kroger locations are offering a fundraising effort through the end of August in which shoppers have the option to “round up” their grocery purchase at the register, with 100% of the funds benefiting the WSOY Community Food Drive, which will be held October 4th at the Kroger on Rt. 36.

Kroger, a presenting sponsor of the WSOY Community Food Drive, is a leader in working to end hunger with Zero Hunger | Zero Waste, a national effort introduced by The Kroger Co. to end hunger in the communities Kroger calls home and eliminate waste across the company by 2025.

In addition to the local round-up efforts, donations through the Kroger coin boxes at its store registers will also benefit the WSOY Community Food drive during the month of August.

Closer to the Food Drive on October 4th, shoppers will also have the opportunity to purchase a $5 or $10 dollar bag of food.  The bags will be filled with items most needed by our communities four largest food pantries, Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, Northeast Community Fund, and the Good Samaritan Inn.
