September 8, 2024 – The Macon County Conservation District will hold a public open house on Tuesday, September 10, from 5-6pm at the Rock Springs Nature Center. The open house will provide Macon County residents an opportunity to view the proposed plans for the Big Creek Riparian Greenway Corridor and Bikeway Acquisition Grant.
This acquisition will not only protect an important corridor along Big Creek but also provide a greenway connection to Spitler Woods. This will create a valuable wildlife corridor and establish a link between Mt. Zion, the Mt. Zion bike trail, Fort Daniel Conservation Area, and the newly acquired historic farmstead.
Residents will have a chance to view printouts of the plans, and feedback, comments, and questions are welcome and encouraged.
