4th annual Hispanic Heritage Month Festival coming to Nelson park September 22nd

September 16, 2024 – The 4th annual Hispanic Heritage Month Festival, presented by el Centro for Hispanic & Immigrant Community Opportunities (CHICO), will culture, entertainment, and community resources to Nelson Park on Sunday, September 22nd.

The festival, held from noon to 6 p.m. in the park’s Pavillion #2, will include live entertainment and Hispanic music, cultural dances, craft, and art vendors, a community resource fair, and a 50/50 raffle.

In addition to several food vendors, live entertainment, and booths from organizations across the community, there will be a kids area hosted by The Children’s Museum of Illinois, face painting, caricatures, a photo booth and more.

The festival is free and open to the public.

Following the event, a concert featuring Larry Hernandez with Special Guest Grupo Ezlavon will be held at the Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater at 7pm. The concert is free to attend thanks to the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, but tickets are required by clicking HERE.

Larry Hernández (born March 10, 1977) is a Mexican-American singer songwriter, and television personality known for his work in the regional Mexican music genre, specifically in the styles of banda, Pacific norteño and norteño-banda.
