September 17, 2024 -In celebration of National Drive Electric Week, the Illinois Alliance for Clean Transportation (IACT) is hosting an electric vehicle Ride-and-Drive event on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Progress City in Decatur.
The event offers the public a unique hands-on experience to test drive a variety of the latest electric vehicles and learn about financial incentives. Attendees will be able to experience electric vehicles like the all-electric Chevrolet Silverado, Equinox, Tesla, and Hummer EV, courtesy of participating local dealers including Miles Chevrolet, Bob Brady, Tesla, and Serra Champaign.
This event is part of IACT’s statewide expansion efforts to promote clean transportation and healthier air in Illinois. Illinois is a growing hub for EV innovation, thanks to state initiatives such as Governor Pritzker’s Reimagining Electric Vehicles (REV) Illinois Act and the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), making Illinois one of the top states for electric vehicle registrations in the U.S.
