Impact life holding several blood drives to address critical shortage

September 24, 2024 – Impact Life, the primary source for blood products for hospitals in Decatur, is holding a number of blood drives in the coming weeks to address a critical shortage.

Decatur Memorial Hospital Community Blood Drive -October 1 – Classroom C, 2300 North Edward Street from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. To donate, please contact Julie Floyd at (217) 876-5018 or use code 60703 online.

First Mid Insurance Group Community Blood Drive – October 1 – Donor Bus, 1090 S Route 51, Forsyth from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. To donate, please call ImpactLife at (800) 747-5401 or use code 61638 online.

Mt. Zion Ministerial Alliance Community Blood Drive – October 7 – Mt. Zion Baptist Church in the Coffee Shop/Foyer, 720 W Main Street, Mt Zion from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. To donate, please contact Pastor Rocky Woolery at (217) 864-4315 or use code 60802 online.

Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois Community Blood Drive -October 10th – 210 W McKinley Ave, inside a Donor Bus from 12:00 pm – 3:30 pm. To donate, please contact Shannon Nail at (217) 329-3255 or use code 60917 online.

St. John’s Lutheran Church Community Blood Drive – October 10, 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Fellowship Hall, 2727 North Union Blvd., Decatur. To donate, please contact Brian Cripe at (217) 875-3656 or use code 61423 online.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. For questions about eligibility, please call ImpactLife at (800) 747-5401.
