LISTEN: Heart of Illinois Community Foundation and Earthmover Credit Union announced $200,000 in community grants

October 15, 2024 – Rachel Moran of the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation and Jes Younghouse of Decatur Earthmover Credit Union joined Byers & Co to announce $200,000 in community organization grants.

Ten Central Illinois organizations have been selected to receive a total of $200,000 in grants from the Impact200 grant fund established at the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation (HICF). The Impact200 grants are focused on projects and programs impacting the greatest needs of HICF’s service areas arts/culture/recreation, social services, conservation/environment, health, and youth nonprofit sectors. This year’s grants were doubled to $200,000 thanks to the $1 million Moving Forward grant program established by the Heart of Illinois Community Foundation (HICF) and Decatur Earthmover Credit Union (DECU).

This year’s recipients, programs, and funding awarded:
• Bement CUSD #5, Popping for a Purpose, $3,500
• Macon Resources, Inc., Brave Hearts Community Empowerment Plan, $5,000
• AMBUCS of Sullivan, IL, Ramp Building & AmTrykes, $10,000
• Sullivan CUSD #300, Buster the School Bus – School Bus Safety Program, $11,200
• Oasis Day Center, Enhancing Basic Needs Services, $15,000
• Mt. Zion CUSD 3 Special Education Department, Sensory Support for Students with Special Needs,
$22,000
• Northeast Community Fund, Small Home Improvement Program, $29,300
• Project Read Plus, Expanding Sites and Resources for Equitable Access, $30,000
• Macon County SKILLS/Macon-Piatt ROE #39, Macon County SKILLS Summer Respite Program, $34,000
• Hope Lives Youth Ranch, Indoor Arena Build Project, $40,000
