Impact Life to hold numerous blood drives in coming weeks

October 24, 2024 – Impact Life, the primary supplier of blood components for both Decatur Memorial Hospital and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital, are holding a number of blood drives with community partners in the coming weeks.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. For questions about eligibility, please call ImpactLife at (800) 747-5401.

Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.

  • Decatur Public Library will host a community blood drive with ImpactLife, October 25- 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Friday, October 25 at 130 N Franklin St., inside the Elizabeth Madden Room.   • Decatur Memorial Hospital will host a Community Blood Drive with ImpactLife, November 5 – 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at 2300 North Edward Street, inside Classroom C. Appointments are requested.
