November 19, 2024 – The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation and Decatur Earthmover credit union surprised Dove, Inc. with a $50,000 grant through the Moving Forward Campaign.
DECU VP of Marketing and Brand, Jes Younghouse, and her team, presented the surprise grant to Dove, Inc., their 2024 Charity of the Year.
Dove CEO Darsonya Switzer and COO Christina Owens were deeply moved and appreciative of the grant. The unrestricted funding will support Dove’s mission and critical services in all three HICF counties.
The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation and Decatur Earthmover Credit Union announced its first-of-its-kind, comprehensive $1 million grant funding collaboration in February this year. The initiative provided increased 2024 grant funding opportunities for nonprofit organizations to help them advance the communities they serve through their projects and programs.
Moving Forward included four discretionary open-call grant programs – Places & Neighborhoods (awarding $100,000), Impact200 ($200,000), Emergency Services Support ($100,000) and CommunityWorks ($400,000). An additional $200,000 in grant funding will benefit Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), emergency services, financial literacy, arts, and summer education programs. As part of the collaboration, Heart of Illinois folded two of its annual grant programs, CommunityWorks and Impact100, into Moving Forward, doubling each program’s available grant funding.
The grant to Dove concludes the $1 Million Moving Forward partnership between HICF and DECU.
