November 24, 2024 – ADM Decatur team members spent time volunteering at Northeast Community Fund to assist with the preparation of the Northeast Community Fund’s Thanksgiving Basket program.
As part of the activities, nearly 20 ADM volunteers packed boxes and assisted with the distribution of Thanksgiving food items to help address food insecurity this holiday season. ADM colleagues also assisted NECF this month in stocking shelves leading up to the packing event.
Joe Greene, General Manager at ADM, “It creates a good moral for the team to be out in the community giving back. Having ADM give us the opportunity to do this is fantastic.”
In addition to providing volunteers, ADM donated over $200,000 to the 2024 WSOY Community Food Drive, which was able to provide 75% of the NECF Thanksgiving Basket budget.
According to NECF, they distributed around 200 or more boxes per day, giving out a total of 3500 to 4000 Thanksgiving boxes. Each box was an enhanced package that included a turkey or ham, thanksgiving fixings, as well as everyday staples offered at the NECF Food Pantry.
