Impact Life holding blood drives to fill the need

December 1, 2024 – Impact Life, the primary blood component provider for DMH Memorial Hospital and HSHS St. Marys, are holding a number of blood drives in the coming weeks.

Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. For questions about eligibility, please call ImpactLife at (800) 747-5401. Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.

Decatur Memorial Hospital – DMH will host a Community Blood Drive  from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, December 3 at 2300 North Edward Street, inside Classroom C. To donate, contact Julie Floyd at (217) 876-5018 or visit www.bloodcenter.org and use code 60703 to locate the drive. You may also schedule by calling ImpactLife at 800-747-5401. Appointments are requested.

Macon County Health Department- Macon County Health Department will host a community blood drive from 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 10, at the Macon County Health Department, located at 1221 East Condit Street, inside a Donor Bus. To donate, contact Debbie Blair at (217) 424-1470 or visit www.bloodcenter.org and use code 60858 to locate the drive.

VA Clinic – CBOC – Decatur will host a community blood drive from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 5 at 792 N Sunnyside Road, inside Donor Bus. To donate, contact ImpactLife at (800) 747 5401 or visit www.bloodcenter.org and use code 61479 to locate the drive.
