Decatur Police swear in five new officers

January 2, 2025 – The Decatur Police Department welcomed five new patrol officers during a swearing in ceremony Thursday in the City Council Chambers.

The new patrol officers include William Cutright-Werkman from Clinton, Logan Jordan of Oreana, Bryton Fuchs of Lincoln, Lacey Middleton of Decatur, and Stephen Vickers of Aurora. Vickers willl join his brother who is also a Decatur Police Officer.

The Officers will begin their basic training at the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center (MCLETC) on Sunday, which will last 16 weeks. After training, they will return to DPD for a 5-month in-service field training program.
