February 13, 2025 – The Macon County Conservation District is hosting their annual Maple Syrup programs on Saturday, February 15th.
At this event, visitors will discover how sap becomes syrup, why spring is the best time of year to harvest sap, and how people used sap throughout history. Registrants will also get a chance to sample real maple syrup. Watch as a Naturalist gives a live demonstration on how to tap a maple tree to harvest the sap.
There will be three different programs, each lasting for one hour, at 11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m. Cost for the program is $3 per person.
