Shows are split between two casts: Looking Glass and Rabbit Hole, each getting 2 performances. The program is composed of over 140 youth from the Decatur area ranging in ages from 5 – 18.
This show tells the classic tale of Alice who falls down the rabbit hole into wonderland. On her journey, she meets characters like the White Rabbit, the Cheshire Cat, the wise Caterpillar, and the Queen of Hearts. While meeting these characters and getting out of Wonderland, Alice learns who she is and the importance of self-efficacy.
Cultural Arts Manager and Co-Choreographer of Alice in Wonderland Jr, Megan Dickerson, says about the program, “The true purpose of arts education is not necessarily to create more professional artists. It is to create more complete human beings who are critical thinkers, with curious minds, great work ethic, and dedication. The Arts are an investment in the future. It’s more than just a show, it’s a wonderful lesson for life!” Come out to Kirkland Fine Arts Center and enjoy an amazing performance full of dedicated young performers.
