St. Teresa Appoints Tom NoonanAssistant Principal/Athletic Director

April 1, 2025 – Tom Noonan was recently appointed to the position of Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at St. Teresa High School beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. He will be replacing Matt Snyder, who was appointed to the St. Teresa High School Principal position. 

Noonan is a Decatur native and alumnus of St. Teresa High School. After graduating from Millikin University in 2006, he returned to his high school alma mater to teach and coach in January of 2007. His career spans 17 years of teaching World History, Current Events, American Government and Sociology. Mr. Noonan earned a Masters in Educational Leadership from American College of Education in 2021. 

Noonan coached at St. Teresa High School for 17 seasons, serving 11 years as the head boys’ basketball coach. As head coach, he had an overall record of 205-92, won 5 conference championships, 2 regional championships, 1 sectional title, 1 super sectional title and in 2015 led the Bulldogs to an IHSA State Championship Appearance. Noonan was named the Decatur Herald and Review County Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2018, as well as, the IBCA District 15 Coach of the Year in those seasons. Noonan also coached golf and baseball for the Bulldogs. Noonan has been an assistant coach with the Millikin Men’s Basketball Program since the 2021-2022 season. 

Mr. Noonan stated, “I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve St. Teresa High School as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. St. Teresa is a special place to me and has been my family’s home for many years. I’m thankful for an opportunity to grow as a professional and serve the students, teachers, and coaches of St. Teresa High School.” 

Larry Daly, High School Principal stated, “Tom Noonan is dedicated to St. Teresa High School. He has been an excellent teacher, coach and role model for our students. He will be an incredible administrator for St. Teresa High School.”
