Heritage Behavioral Health Center to host 3rd annual Gallery of Hope

April 2, 2025 –Heritage Behavioral Health Center will host its third annual Gallery of Hope on Saturday, Saturday, April 5 at Rock Springs Nature Center in Decatur. featuring a display of artwork by students from Macon, DeWitt and Logan counties.  

There will be hundreds of works of art from local youth on display tied to mental health.  The event will also include self-care activities and refreshments. The event will be held at Rock Springs Nature Center from from 1 to 4 p.m.

The April 5 event will also include interactive activities such as cupcake decorating, rock painting, friendship bracelet-making, and more. Admission is free and open to the public. 

“Heritage is honored to host such an impactful event to cultivate discussion around mental health through art – what amazing talent and insight our local youth have!” says Mary Garrison, President and CEO, Heritage Behavioral Health Center. 

According to Smithsonian Magazine, “Research has found that making art can activate reward pathways in the brain, reduce stress, lower anxiety levels, and improve mood.” 

The display will also be available until through May 1st.
