
April 3, 2025 – Registration is now open for the 2025 summer camps hosted by the Macon County Conservation District at Rock Springs Conservation Area for children ages 1 through 15.
The camps offer outdoor experiences focused on nature, history, and exploration. Campers will participate in activities including hiking, canoeing, fishing, games, creative arts, and field trips to educational and historical locations. Each camp is designed for specific age groups and held on designated days throughout the summer.
Earth Adventures is a full-day camp for ages 6 to 12 and runs weekly from June 2 through August 1, with a fee of $150 per week and a $20 discount for each additional sibling. Activities include outdoor play, science learning, canoeing, hiking, and off-site trips to Clinton Lake and other field trip destinations. Camp will not meet on June 19 or July 4 in observance of Juneteenth and Independence Day, and fees will be adjusted accordingly.
Adventure Club is a half-day Tuesday morning camp from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for children ages 5 to 12, running June 3 through July 29. Each session costs $20 and includes all supplies, activities, and a snack. Space is limited to 25 campers per day.
History Camp will take place Wednesday mornings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for ages 6 to 12, running June 11 through July 30. Campers will explore past lifestyles and how they differ from the present, with a focus on transportation, fashion, and food. The cost is $20 per session, with space limited to 12 campers.
X-Treme Camp is for older campers ages 10 to 15 and is held on select Wednesdays. Fees are $35 for Macon County residents and $60 for those outside the county. Camp capacity is limited to 12 campers per session.
Mini Camp is designed for children ages 1 to 5 accompanied by an adult and lasts one hour. Campers in June and July will learn about native plants and animals under the Ecosystem Explorers theme. Each session costs $8, with space limited to 12 and a minimum of four participants required.
