Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations to host Public Safety Panel Discussion on April 26

April 22, 2025 -Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations (CONO) will host a Public Safety Panel Discussion on Saturday April 26th.

The Forum will be held in the Madden Auditorium (first floor) at the Decatur Public Library on Saturday, April 26. The event will be from 1pm-2:30pm. Macon County Sheriff Jim Root, two representatives from the Decatur Police Department and Macon County State’s Attorney Diane Couri will participate in a panel discussion and take questions from the public. Caryn Eisert of WAND TV will be the moderator. The public is encouraged to attend.

The format of the event will allow citizens to ask questions of the police and sheriff’s officials directly. “In any survey of our neighborhoods, safety is always the number one concern,” stated Kathy Williams, CONO President, at a CONO meeting. “Our organization wants to assist people in getting accurate information and answers to their concerns during this panel discussion,” she continued.

CONO will provide two security doorbell cameras and two NOAA weather radios as door prizes for attendees. It is a free event with light refreshments.
