April 8, 2025 -The inaugural Decatur Pintwood Derby raced to success on Saturday, April 5, as 50 handcrafted cars hit the track and over 100 spectators packed Decatur Brew Works to support local scouting programs.

The event featured three racing divisions—Cub Scout Rules, Outlaw, and All Show No Go. Trophies were awarded for speed, style, and creativity with all proceeds from the event going directly to support Scouting programs in Decatur and surrounding areas.

Funds will provide camp scholarships, registration assistance, and leadership development opportunities for over 900 youth served in the area.

“We were blown away by the turnout and enthusiasm,” said David Lane, Assistant Director of Field Service. “The Pintwood Derby was more than just a fun afternoon—it was a meaningful investment in the future of local youth.”

With a strong debut and enthusiastic support from the community, the Pintwood Derby is set to return in 2026.
