April 16, 2025 – Millikin University Football will host a two-day Coaches Clinic April 25-26 at the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel, featuring Millikin alumnus and Army Head Coach Jeff Monken.
The weekend includes a Friday evening motivational program for coaches and fans and a Saturday morning clinic for active and aspiring coaches. Friday’s session will run from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., while Saturday’s clinic will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Friday’s featured speakers include Jeff Monken, University of Kentucky Senior Assistant Derek Shay, and retired Illinois Wesleyan Head Coach Norm Eash. Monken enters his 12th season at Army with an 82-57 record at the school. Shay is a Cerro Gordo native with experience at several NCAA and high school programs. Eash retired in 2024 with 233 career victories.
Saturday’s clinic features Central Illinois coaches and Millikin alumni sharing tactical strategies and planning techniques. Presenters include Josh Jostes (Maroa-Forsyth), Patrick Etherton and Dan Potempa (Mount Zion), Jeff Beck (Belvidere North), and Scott Godfrey (Heyworth).
The clinic is $50 per individual or $400 per school staff. Tickets for Friday’s event are $50. Registration is available at millikin.edu/Coachesclinic. Event sponsorship is provided by McLeod Express.
