
May 20, 2025 – Decatur City Manager Tim Gleason has announced Lacie Elzy as the Director of Economic & Community Development.
“During her time at the City, Lacie has shown great leadership and commitment to the betterment of the organization and community,” said Gleason. “I am pleased to promote Lacie Elzy to serve as the Director of Economic & Community Development.”
Lacie is a Decatur native and graduate of MacArthur High School and Millikin University. She began her career with the City in 2015 as a Neighborhood Program Specialist in the Economic & Community Development Department. Since then, she has advanced through several leadership roles, including Grants Manager in Transit (2021), Interim Transportation Administrator (2022), Director of Transportation Services (2023), and most recently Acting Director of Economic & Community Development in 2025.
“I am honored to be appointed as the City of Decatur’s new Economic and Community Development Director. Decatur is a city with tremendous potential, and I look forward to partnering with local leaders, businesses, and residents to drive strategic growth, attract new investment, and strengthen the economic vitality of our community,” said Elzy.
