Scott Rosenbery named Deputy Chief of Police

May 20, 2025 – The Decatur Police Department has announced the promotion of Lieutenant Scott Rosenbery to Deputy Chief of Police effective May 23, 2025. He will be Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigations Division, taking the place of Brian Cleary who has announced his retirement after a 30-year career. 

Rosenbery has been with the DPD since September of 2006 and most recently served as the Lieutenant of Criminal Investigations. 

Chief Brad Allen stated, “Lt. Rosenbery has close to 19 years of service with this department. His knowledge and experience will contribute greatly to his new assignment and the DPD administrative team. I am excited for Scott, and his career advancement.” 

Rosenbery was named detective in 2009, then promoted to Sergeant in 2017, before his most recent role as Lieutenant since 2022. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and has a MBA from Millikin University.
