May 20, 2025 – Theatre 7 will open its production of Murder on the Orient Express on May 24 at the Decatur Civic Center, with performances running May 24th, 25th, 30th, 31th, and June 1st.
Directed and produced by Jerry Johnson and Emily Steele, the show puts a comedic spin on Agatha Christie’s classic mystery. Local cast members include Doug Bishop as Hercule Poirot, Rahamses Galvan as Constantine Bouc, Emma Rourke as Helen Hubbard, Marty Deetz as Countess Andrenyi, and Rick Cina as Samuel Ratchett, among others.
Tickets are $19 for adults or $15 for students, plus fees. Set in 1934 aboard the stranded Orient Express, the story follows a murder investigation led by world-famous detective Hercule Poirot. The passengers are trapped in a snowstorm, and with one of them likely being the killer, Poirot must solve the case before another victim falls.
