
May 26, 2025 – Ball runner training for the Illinois Women’s Pro Tennis Championships will take place Sunday, June 1, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Tennis Center in Decatur.
The training is open to youth ages 12 and older. Participants must also be available June 14–15 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The opportunity qualifies for service hours and allows youth to get close to professional-level tennis action.
The Illinois Women’s Pro Tennis Championships is a new addition to the United States Tennis Association Professional Circuit. The seven-day tournament features 70 players from over 15 countries and offers $30,000 in prize money along with WTA ranking points. The event is organized by the Decatur Community Tennis Foundation.
The USTA Pro Circuit is the world’s largest professional tennis development circuit. Founded in 1979, it includes nearly 100 tournaments with around $3 million in total prize money.
