June 4, 2025 -The new Tillamook County Creamery Association’s (TCCA) Decatur plant celebrated its official opening Wednesday with a ceremonial ice cream scooping.

The facility is expected to produce 6 million gallons of Tillamook Ice Cream by the end of 2025. The Decatur facility, which occupies the space of the former Prairie Farms facility, is the only TCCA facility dedicated solely to producing ice cream. The plant will manufacture ice cream for the 48 oz family size cartons as well as 3 gallon foodservice containers.

The company says that over the next two years, production will ramp up to 15.5 million gallons annually or 44,000 gallons a day.

To celebrate the official opening, Tillamook announced $50,000 in charitable contributions to the Decatur community.  This included $20,000 to the Decatur Park District, $20,000 to the Good Samaritan Inn, $5,000 to Northeast Community Fund’s Farm to Fund program, and $5,000 to the Macon County Fair for its livestock and open class shows.

Tillamook, based in Oregon, has been the fastest growing family size ice cream brand in the US for the past 5 years. The plant in Decatur will help to serve the growing demand for Tillamook Ice Cream to the East Coast.
