June 9, 2025 – Professional tennis is making its return to Decatur this week, with the Illinois Women’s Pro Tennis Championships. Scheduled for June 9–15, 2025, the event is taking place at the Decatur Park District’s Fairview Tennis Complex and mark the city’s first-ever professional women’s tennis tournament.
“Tennis is a game that brings communities together, allowing people of all ages to learn, improve, and enjoy the sport,” said Keri (Robison) Roth, the tournament sponsor. “As a young girl growing up in Decatur, I spent endless hours each summer playing on the courts at Fairview. It was like a second home to me. I hope other young girls in our community come out to watch these world-class athletes, feel inspired by the same dream, and develop their own love for the game.”
The tournament is sanctioned by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Pro Circuit and the International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Tour. The event will feature 70 players from over 20 countries competing for a $30,000 prize purse and valuable WTA (Women’s Tennis Association) world ranking points.
