June 12, 2025 -This summer, The Salvation Army has opened its doors to students from kindergarten through 12th grade for an 8-week Summer Day Camp .

The camp, which is currently underway, runs Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

“The camp provides structured programming that blends education, character development, and Christian values to help young people thrive both in and out of the classroom. When we invest in a child, we invest in the future of our community, This camp is about more than just keeping kids busy in the summer—it’s about helping them grow into confident, capable, and compassionate individuals,” The Salvation Army stated.

Program Highlights Include:

  • Academic Enrichment: Interactive sessions in reading, math, science, and creative arts to prevent summer learning loss.
  • Character Development: Weekly themes promoting respect, responsibility, kindness, and integrity.
  • Pre/Post Evaluations: Data-driven assessments to measure progress in academics, behavior, and spiritual understanding.
  • Field Trips: Educational outings that bring learning to life and offer exposure to new experiences.
  • Volunteer Engagement: A call to local mentors and volunteers to be part of each child’s summer journey.
