July 29, 2025 – The Children’s Museum of Illinois is hosting Community Conversations: Financial Wellness for Families on Tuesday, August 5th from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at the museum (55 S. Country Club Rd., Decatur, IL 62521). This is a free, adults-only workshop with childcare and refreshments provided.
Financial Wellness for Families, co-hosted by Decatur Earthmover Credit Union and Parker Mathis Wealth Advisors, will cover the basics of family-focused financial wellness. This includes 529 college savings plans, custodial IRAS, managing credit cards, understanding mortgages, and more. The goal is to build financial confidence around money making decisions.
During this time, childcare will be provided for kids aged four and up. The Children’s Museum will offer a math and money themed program for half the time with free play in the museum for the other half.
Space is limited to 25 adults and registration is required.
