August 4, 2025 -Crossing Healthcare is joining community health centers nationwide in celebrating National Health Center Week (NHCW), August 3-9, 2025. This year’s theme, “Celebrating 60 Years of Progress: Past, Present & Future,” honors the legacy and ongoing impact of health centers in building healthier communities.

Since 1970, Crossing Healthcare has been dedicated to improving the well-being of Macon County and surrounding communities by providing high-quality, affordable care. Our comprehensive services include primary healthcare, a walk-in clinic, chronic care management, on-site lab and x-ray, behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and dental care through our partnership with Familia Dental. Our campus features a garden, greenhouse, orchard, pavilion, walking path, playground, and pond – making it a true community space.

Community Health Centers (CHCs) are the nation’s largest primary care network, serving over 32 million people each year. For six decades, CHCs have played a vital role in the healthcare system. Today, more than 1,500 CHCs across the country serve one in 10 people. With a mission to provide accessible, patient-centered care, CHCs offer a comprehensive approach to health – delivering medical, dental, and behavioral health services, along with education and support to strengthen community well-being.

National Health Center Week at Crossing Healthcare To celebrate National Health Center Week, Crossing Healthcare is bringing together patients, staff, and community partners for a week of special activities and recognition. Inspired by this year’s theme, staff will participate in “Dress Through the Decades” days – starting with our founding year, 1970, and looking ahead to the future. Throughout the week, resource booths hosted by local partners will offer patients valuable information and support. Staff will also enjoy a dessert food truck day and a catered lunch from local vendors.
