August 13, 2025 – The Salvation Army of Decatur & Macon County and Walmart are working together for a  Stuff the Bus Campaign on August 15 from 1-8 pm to collect schools supplies for area children. There will also be a Red Kettle and a bell ringer at each door on this day to accept general cash or check donations.

“As area students start a new school year, we kno there is a need to help them and their families with school supplies. We want to supplement students with supplies to start the year and be in a position to help during the school year as well”, said Decatur Corps Officer Major Randy Summit.

People can donate physical school supplies at the Walmart Store near the airport located at 4625 E. Maryland Street on August 15 from 1-8 pm. Look for the specially marked Stuff the Bus collection bins outside of each set of doors at Walmart on August 15. Donated schools supplies can also be dropped off at the downtown location at 229 W. Main in Decatur.
