August 17, 2025 – HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital held a blessing ceremony for the hospital’s new helipad.
Led by Fr. Amal Roche and Central IL Market Supervisor of Mission Integration and Spiritual Care Karla Marshall, the group laid hands on the pad, asking for protection and healing for all who will arrive and depart by air medical transport.
The new helipad, and its new location closer to the emergency department, is part of a larger $90 million infrastructure renovation project currently in progress which also includes four new surgical suites, updated clinical spaces, improved patient room amenities, a new Chapel design and the addition of other advanced technologies and equipment.
