September 7, 2025 – Car enthusiasts, students, and community members gathered this morning at Richland Community College for the “Cars and Coffee” event, supporting the upcoming Operation Obstacle Course race and raising awareness for veteran suicide prevention.
A variety of vehicles, including classic muscle cars, modern sports cars, and custom builds, were on display by local owners at the event. Attendees were offered complimentary coffee and donuts and had the opportunity to view the vehicles and speak with their owners.
This “Cars and Coffee” event was held in support of Operation Obstacle Course, which is a 2- mile obstacle race designed to bring awareness to veteran suicide and the resources that are available to veterans and their families.
“So that they can help veterans that are in distress or that are dealing with hard times, and allow them to know which kind of resources are out there for them”, said Scott Broyles, the Fitness Center Director of Richland Community College and Director of Operation Obstacles.
Tours of Richland Community College’s autobody department were also available. Students and instructors presented current projects and provided information about the program.
Proceeds from the event will support the upcoming race and related awareness efforts.
