September 7, 2025 – The public is invited to attend the September meeting of CONO (Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations) on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
The meeting will begin at 5:30pm in the Madden Room on the first floor of the Decatur Public Library, 130 North Franklin Street. Citizens are encouraged to come with project ideas and needs of their own neighborhood. All citizens are encouraged to attend these meetings.
There will be a special presentation about the October 3 WSOY Community Food drive. Details such as the need for the assistance to the local food banks and how neighborhoods and private citizens can get involved will be announced.
The purpose of CONO is to support the formation, development, and empowerment of grassroots neighborhood organizations within the city boundaries of Decatur, Illinois, by sharing ideas with, and providing moral support to, neighborhood representatives, by promoting skills development (i.e., training opportunities and technical assistance) and by promoting neighborhood and political awareness.
CONO hosts public meetings on the third Tuesday of each month. It is a free forum that is open to any resident. Meetings typically last one hour. Citizens are encouraged to follow the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations Facebook page for more neighborhood details.
