September 28, 2025- Merchant Street in downtown Decatur was the setting for a community-focused evening on Saturday as the 7th Annual Farm to Fund dinner took place to support Northeast Community Fund— a nonprofit that provides food and essential services to thousands of Decatur-area residents each month.

Farm to Fund has grown into a signature event for NECF, combining local food, music, and a communal dining experience with a mission to fight hunger. Attendees shared a farm-to-table meal in an open-air setting while supporting NECF’s work, which includes feeding roughly 6,000 people every month and offering services like clothing assistance, mentoring, and utility aid.

“It’s a great evening. It’s an amazing meal, there’s eating under the stars, there’s beautiful music, there’s amazing wine….We’re here at the end of the day to create awareness and to raise money so we can feed those in need in the community.”, said Specialist for Career Success and Professional Development and Co-chair of the Farm to Fund event Lindy Taylor.

While final totals have not yet been announced, past events have raised over $40,000 in a single evening. Proceeds directly support NECF’s programs, helping sustain its food pantry and other outreach efforts that serve families across Macon County.
