October 3, 2025 – The WSOY Community Food Drive received a major boost today with a $10,000 donation from Decatur Memorial Hospital (DMH) and 1907 pounds of cereal from their cereal drive. The gift will go directly toward fighting hunger in Macon County by supporting local food pantries and meal programs.
DMH also partners with Northeast Community Fund to provide food bags to elderly patients upon release from the hospital. These bags ensure that patients have groceries waiting at home while they convalesce, addressing a critical need for seniors who may struggle with mobility or access to food.
The contribution adds to the growing momentum of the WSOY Community Food Drive, which continues throughout the day at Kroger on Rt. 36. Donations of nonperishable food items, cash, or online contributions can still be made at WSOYFoodDrive.com
