October 14, 2025 –Several well-known Downtown Decatur food businesses are teaming up to host a new street festival with plans to make it a yearly tradition. The Downtown Decatur Fall Family Festival will take place on Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature food, music, games, and activities for all ages.
Organized by Coney McKane’s American Eatery, Jimmy John’s, The Original Del’s Popcorn Shop, and CM Catering, the event will take over parts of Merchant Street and Prairie Avenue. The festival also serves as a fundraiser for Huntington’s Disease, and is supported by other downtown businesses.

Merchant Street will offer a variety of family-friendly activities, including:
- Inflatable obstacle course
- Bubble station

A main stage will connect the two streets and host live performances throughout the day. Scheduled to perform are local DJs and bands, including DJ T.A.T., The Standalone Steves, and Country artist Ryan Mundy, who will play an acoustic set during the festival.
Food trucks will be located throughout the event area, serving both family and adult sections.
Organizers say the goal is to create a fun, welcoming experience for all while laying the groundwork for a new annual tradition in downtown Decatur. The event combines elements from past local favorites like Decatur Celebration, the Gus Macker tournaments, and the Decatur Craft Beer Festival.
