October 21, 2025 – Macon Resources, Inc. will host its annual Speak Up & Speak Out Summit: “We Are…Advocates”, a statewide advocacy and empowerment event on Friday October 24.
“The event will bring together self-advocates, service providers, students and educators for a day of learning, connection, and inspiration,” said MRI President and CEO, Amy Bliefnick. “MRI is thrilled to host such a great opportunity to further empower those we serve.”
Participants will engage in interactive workshops, hear from inspiring speakers, and take part in activities designed to build confidence, promote inclusion, and strengthen self-advocacy skills.
Leslie Pierce, Director of Human Rights at MRI added, “This summit brings people together to learn, grow, and stand beside one another in advocacy. Together, we’re building a future where empowerment is lived every day.” The event aims to celebrate the voices and leadership of people with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of rights, empowerment, and community involvement. An information fair will highlight local and statewide organizations that support advocacy, education, and independent living.
