November 9, 2025 – The Salvation Army in Decatur will host a Veterans Stand Down event on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 229 West Main Street.
The event is designed to help veterans and their families by providing access to free services, resources, and community connections. Attendees will be able to enjoy a hot meal, receive clothing and haircuts, and participate in health screenings. Information about housing, employment, and benefits will also be available.
A number of local organizations and service providers will be on-site to offer support and answer questions.
All veterans are welcome to attend. Participants are encouraged to register online and bring proof of military service, such as a DD-214, VA ID, or military ID.
The Salvation Army notes that the event aims to connect veterans with the assistance and recognition they have earned through their service.
