November 16, 2025 –In recognition of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, the Macon County Continuum of Care and Dove-Homeward Bound are inviting community members to take part in a special “Walk the Walk” event on Wednesday, November 19, from noon to 1:30 p.m.
The event will feature a guided tour of Decatur, offering a look at the city through the perspective of people who are experiencing homelessness and seeking local services. Organizers say the tour aims to help participants better understand the challenges faced by those in need of housing and support.
National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week takes place each November to raise awareness about housing insecurity and food access issues across the country.
