November 23, 2025 -The Decatur Area Arts Council will present a Mardi Gras-themed exhibit at the Madden Arts Center in February 2026. The exhibit will highlight the history and cultural traditions associated with Mardi Gras.
The Arts Council is seeking community contributions to feature in the exhibit. Items requested include masks, costumes, photographs, parade memorabilia, and other Mardi Gras-related artifacts. Submitted items will be used to help illustrate the cultural background and significance of Mardi Gras.
The exhibit aims to present historical and cultural aspects of Mardi Gras, including influences from French, African, Spanish, and Native American traditions.
