December 11, 2025 -The Decatur Bicycle Club continued its annual tradition by donating almost 60 gently used children’s bicycles to the Decatur Salvation Army for holiday distribution to local families.
Club members gathered at the Decatur Bicycle Shop today where the 59 bicycles were loaded for delivery at 11 a.m. The donation was part of the club’s ongoing effort to support community organizations during the holiday season.
“This is one of the many ways that the club gives back to the community. In addition to giving away bikes for christmas we’ve donated bikes to the good samaritan inn for their employees to have a way to get around…We like to get together and ride bikes and have fun, but we also like to promote cycling as a source of transportation as well as recreation.” said Vice President of the Decatur Bicycle Club Matt Rueff.
The Salvation Army planned to distribute the refurbished bicycles to families in need as part of its holiday assistance programs.
