December 10, 2025 – The Recycle Coach app is now available in the City of Decatur for residents looking to reduce their household waste and become better recyclers
Recycle Coach makes it easy for people to get local disposal information for thousands of household items when they need. It is a free app that can be downloaded on mobile app stores or it can be used online at www.decaturil.gov/580/Recycling
With Recycle Coach, citizens can:
· Stay organized with custom curbside collection and recycling events calendars
· Receive collection reminders and updates on service
· Become recycling experts with a comprehensive “What Goes Where?” search tool, including local disposal information and collection requirements for common and uncommon items
· Take the “We Wanted to Know” weekly quizzes for useful recycling tips and tricks
Recycling service is available to all residential Decatur customers in single-family homes, and in residences with up to six units. Recycling is collected by your defined hauler and delivered to Circular Services Recycling (formerly Midwest Fiber).
