February 2, 2026 – The Decatur Baseball Club has announced plans for its Inaugural Hot Stove Social, a new winter event designed to bring baseball fans together ahead of the start of Spring Training.

The event is scheduled for this Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Beach House, located at 1001 South Lake Front Road in Nelson Park on Lake Decatur. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The featured guest for the inaugural gathering will be Pat Hughes, the Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame broadcaster and longtime radio voice of the team.

According to the Decatur Baseball Club, the Hot Stove Social is intended to be a fan-focused event centered on baseball conversation, storytelling, and anticipation for the upcoming season. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a live question-and-answer session with Hughes, as well as receive an autograph and photo during the event.

“This event will serve as a cornerstone winter connection point with our fans,” said Jamie Toole, Chief Storyteller for the Decatur Baseball Club. “The Hot Stove Social will be an annual tradition where the Decatur baseball community can come together, talk baseball, and kick off the excitement leading into Spring Training.”

Tickets for the event are currently on sale and availability is limited. Tickets are $60.
