January 20, 2026 – ImpactLife, the nonprofit provider of blood components for both area hospitals, will host two community blood drives in Decatur later this month in partnership with Decatur Memorial Hospital and Richland Community College.
Richland Community College will host a second blood drive on Wednesday, January 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.Donations will be accepted on the ImpactLife Donor Bus parked in Lot B at One College Park.
Decatur Memorial Hospital will host a blood drive on Tuesday, February 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The drive will take place inside Classroom C at the hospital, located at 2300 North Edward Street.
Appointments are requested for both blood drives. Donors can schedule by visiting ImpactLife’s website and using the appropriate drive code, or by calling ImpactLife at 800-747-5401. Donors who last gave blood on or before December 3, 2025, are eligible to donate at the RCC Drive, while those who last donated on or before December 9, 2025, are eligible for the DMH drive.
To donate blood, individuals must be at least 17 years old, or 16 with a parental permission form, weigh more than 110 pounds, and present a valid photo ID. Blood donation typically takes 45 minutes to one hour, and individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be eligible to donate.
Donors who successfully give blood will receive an ImpactLife Donor Reward, which may include an e-gift card, a charitable donation made on their behalf, or bonus points for the ImpactLife online rewards store.
