February 5, 2026 – Four Memorial Health hospitals earned recertification from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation in 2025 – a designation for high-quality programs with strong patient outcomes.

Cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs are essential in helping patients recover and return to their daily activities after a cardiac event, illness or injury. Decatur Memorial Hospital, Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Springfield Memorial Hospital and Taylorville Memorial Hospital all earned recertification.

The hospitals offer inpatient and outpatient cardiac and pulmonary rehab for patients recovering from heart attacks and other health conditions. Programs must apply for recertification every three years, submitting data on numerous quality indicators and meeting high standards for staff competencies.

“Cardiac and pulmonary rehab are truly changing lives and making a difference for patients and their families at Memorial Health, and our patients tell us how grateful they are for the individualized attention they receive,” said Drew Early, chief operating officer at Memorial Health. “I’m not surprised that our programs continue to rank among the best nationwide.”
